You may have created mutibodies by cutting extrusion. Check whether you see "Solid Bodies" on the tree. You may, by accident, "hide" those bodies. Then, it behaves like the way described.

Anna already gave you a hint. SolidWorks is capable but probably not the way you expect it to behave. You should not expect two different products look and feel exactly the same.

One way is to cook it. Place them in an environmental chamber and run thermal cycle.
