Need hardware recommendation for 12V to adjustable 5V~5.5V switching regulator

I'm building an affordable portable phone charger that looks almost similar to the typical small Iphone charger with modular USB plug. My power source comes from a 12V regulated solar PV system. I need hardware recommendation for a 1A 12V to adjustable 5~5.5V (or more) switching regulator IC...

Weird reply from Modbus energy meter controlled by mbed microcontroller

The Modbus of the energy meter is not responding as expected even thought the terminal resistor was connected. This is a new problem. I was using ModScan32 as a master device previously. For this post, i'm using an mbed microcontroller as a master device.

Weird reply from Modbus energy meter controlled by mbed microcontroller

I'm using an mbed micro-controller to retrieve register from Integra 1630 energy meter with modbus via a SIPEX SP485CS chip (RS485 level shiftier). All the component and connection are working correctly.(Double checked) Using the same program with different reigster, i'm able to get good modbus...

Weird issue on energy meter's signal with modbus protocol

@itsmoked Less than 50m(Estimated), didn't really went to measured it. 9600 baud rate. I did some experiment with the length of the wire without a terminal resistor. If length of wire is less than 1m = very smooth reading. If length of wire is 1m or more = occasionally 0x00, it got worst with...

Weird issue on energy meter's signal with modbus protocol

I just figured out the problem today. There was no terminal resistor between the twisted pair. That is the reason why i keep getting 0x00. After adding a 120ohms to it, the signal was very smooth.

Weird issue on energy meter's signal with modbus protocol

I'm using Modscan to check the data from my Integra 1630 Energy meter. Often, i will only receive a register value of 0x00 while occasionally a good reply. I tried changing the scan rate from 100ms to 5s but nothing changes. The wire connected from my RS485 to the energy meter is less than...
