A joist manufacturer on the west coast is refusing to design these connections.
They claim they can't do it because of code (even though a joist manufacturer will design these connections on the east coast).
so is it mandatory for the EOR to design these? if the joist contractor won't do it...
How do your offices typically aproach the revision of submittals for structural steel?
Is there am efficient way to make sure fabricator matches design intent?
(anything that would be faster than checking each drawings, element by element, to see if information in both match)

Say story drift is max allowed by 12.12-1 for a 25 ft story height.. so 7.5 in of drift.
It would only make sense that elevator vendor would design for allowable drift, right??
say you have a 2 story building with an elevator in it. to design the elevator, vendor doesn't take into account the story drift due to lateral loads. they brace their rails to the supporting structure and only provide those reactions.

So I have 3 vendors offering panels that are compliant with "Seismic Zone 4 (0.5g)". I'm not familiar with this rating provided or used by electricians. I would expect that rating to be in compliance/meets ASCE 7 Cs or Sds=some-high-value
