@EdStainless ,
you must be correct the clip is from VDM ,because we got this graph from mill who uses VDM material for 825.
The other vendor who confirmed corrosion resistance is manufacturing the 825 plates themselves so may be they have the knowhow to get through this.
My doubt is will this...
Hello Sirs,
We have got below feedback from a Reputed Cladding mill regarding Inconel 825 being subject to PWHT. You might wonder why PWHT is required for Inconel 825, the base material is CS , Inconel 825 is the cladding material .

The PWHT is limited through sensitization. A PWHT of...
Dear Sirs,
Good day all.
Is restrictions/requirements on Copper Nickel plate (UNS 71500) covered under NACE MR 0175. If yes, kindly advise.
Thanks

Dear Sirs,
We are currently working on a project (pressure vessel subject to PWHT, shell thickness 16mm) where the base material is SA-203 Gr D and we dont have any existing WPS/PQR for this grade. The welding engineer in my company has left and there is no right person currently available to...
@Edstainless ,@0707
Finally it ended up as complete PWHT of tube bundle : Yes
Couldn't convince the QC of exemption for PWHT for welding of non-pressure parts like tie rods and sliding plates.
Anyways thanks for the replies.
Thanks
Jerin
@goutam_freelance,
thank you so much for the above post. But this interpretation says when attachments are welded to a corrosion resistant weld metal ,so will this be applicable if a sliding bar is welded to a tubesheet or if a sliding bar is welded to the baffle.
Thanks
Jerin
Good day to all.
We are currently working on an project (supply of filter vessels). The shell material is cladded (SA 516 Gr 70 + 625 Clad). There is an internal tubesheet (to accommodate filter catridges) which is subject to a differential pressure of 1.25 barg. The material of the tubesheet...

Please advise your thoughts on requirement of PWHT for welding of NON-PRESSURE parts to pressure parts in line with code.
Thanks
Jerin
@ironic metallurgist, @EdStainless
Agreed about the weld dimension buut what about the tube thickness which is 1.65mm.Isnt that the base metal in our case?
Thanks
Jerin
@ironic metallurgist
The tube to tibesheet weld is only 1.2mm .please see attached joint details. Hope it clarifies . Tube and tibehseet shall be procured with carbon content 0.11%.
Kindly advsie your thoughts .
Thanks
Jerin...
@ironic metallurgist
Tube material -268 TP 410 , tubesheet - SA 182 gr F6a cl2 .
Tubesheet thickness -174mm , tube thickness - 2.11mm ,tube to tubesheet joint - strength welded .
Sliding bar is 410s material (26mm thk), is welded to the tubesheet .
Pls let me know if you need further details...
@ironic metallurgist ,
Our welding engineer has advised to use NiCrMo-3 for welding instead of SS410. Operating temperature of tube side fluid is 260 Deg C & Shell side fluid is 366 Deg C.
Please advise your thoughts on requirement of PWHT for welding of NON-PRESSURE parts in line with code...
@Edstainless & @0707, Kindly advise your stand on requirement of PWHT for welding of non pressure parts (sliding bars/tie rods etc. fabricated from SS410S) . Reference from the code would be appreciated or else if you can explain with regards to Table UHA 32-1 would be very helpful.
Thanks
Jerin
