A coworker asked me today if we could determine the flow of air through a pipeline when the air coming into the pipe is 15000 cfm. I told him that Q = V*A, flow rate does not change regardless of diameter, and that we could easily calculate this value. The more I think about it though...

I need to go through the design process for a butt weld, but the AISC manual does not have a specification for it. From pictures, butt welds and groove welds (which are in the AISC manual) look like the same thing. Does anyone know if they are? Thanks!
