Hi All
Recently i had been asked to check the corrosion rate of Aluminium alloys from interaction with a few 'low use' solutions and compounds. While i couldnot find anything in handbooks, i moved on to research papers and books.... the past research (ie generation of corrosion data from these...
Hi All
i v been working on FLUENT for making CFD simulations with the pre-processing being done in Gridgen software.
At present i was using Gridgen V15. Although now the firm has shifted to Pointwise software, i was comfortable with the previous versions so didnot move
recently i had to...
we have an aircraft that is to be preserved for some time in future. it was depainted for inspection. It has presently been primed with MIL-23377 primer.
the aircraft will remain exposed to UVs and sunshine alongwith rest of environmental factors. i do know that a top coat will endure around 4...
TVP! Thanks very much... its iaw AMS2431/7, from what all i could get uptill now, Z425 would suffice instaed of particluar AZB425.
Can u put any reference or may be paper, which can tell how to switch from one media to other, so as to achieve similar results? may be between glass bead and...
hello all
we had to perform a repair onto the wing to fuselage attachment fitting. the repair is also a fitting and a splice, which has been to be machined out of 7075-T651 Aluminium. Post machining, shot-peening with ceramic media is to be performed with AZB-425.
The problem is...
I recently cam across test bench run requirements of t501, commercial equivalent of a famous t56 engine... it had mandated use of 'test club' prop and prop control for bench run of any engine used onto it....
further this 'test club' parts were also not to be used on aircrafts
to me it was...
well..... it would have been a lot simpler had these been structural parts..... these are system components (including airframe, hydraulic and specially prop controls)....so no point in stress analysis.... :(
Hello all.....
I am maintaining a fleet of five aircrafts. recently I have got a study to redefine the life of some of the components, based upon some occurrences we had in past few years... the aircraft has a very mature history and is being maintained under RCM analysis by USAF.
now I do...
does Dinitrol AV 30, CPC, has a life for which coating will remain effective without reapplication?
the publications dealing with preservation of A/Cs give lives of some of these CPCs, but not this one....
does any body has any reference regarding this?
During the refinishing of exterior of the A/C, after PDM (Major overhaul), damaged sealant on the seating of fillet panels was required to be refinished.… From past experience and as a standard practice, old sealant was required to be completely removed first and then new one was applied, since...
thanx for helping me out ..... but now here goes an additional problem:
according to the SIFCO process Cd LHE code 5070, two procedures are given. one for clean unsed surface and one for rough used surface...... the differecne for used surface is of "PREWET AND THEN ELECTROCLEAN WITH CODE...
determining the extent of damage thru the conductivity and hardness test is most important.... i face a similar situation some years back, and wat we couldnot believe was that out of the primary damage area, there was some area, whose tests were Ok, but visual signs of burning (from upholstery...

u reminded me of my own time..... My education was by the military and after all the bright design and engineering performance at school, i was sent as a maintenace offr to the flight line.... where there is no design, no engineering..... just yells for getting the down birds UP...... and it...
