    Recalculated Sifs

Hi I have a question with "sifs". For example, when I recalculate SIFs (Nozzle with reinforced pad with FE SIF). I enter the values on the 3 branches but should i also indicate the type of the branch? I get different results if i indicate or not "reinforced" in the box "type". In my opinion...

DLR according to Appendix F API STD 650

Thanks for your help. One last question, i'm still using the 12th edition Addendum 2,2016. When we calculate uplift loads, W1 and W2 are the same in case of tank with supported cone (roof without column) And we shall consider the dead load roof plate in W1 contrary to the 11th edition 2007...

DLR according to Appendix F API STD 650

Hi IFRs, The edition is API650 twelfth edition Addendum2, January 2016. In F4.1 in SI units : I used : A in mm² Fy in Mpa theta in degrees D in meters Dlr in Newton In F.7 in SI units i used : P in kPa Dlr in Newton D in meters An other question, in USC units for annex F, which unit shall we...

DLR according to Appendix F API STD 650

The formula in SI units is wrong..... When i use USC units, my failure pressure is upper than the maximum design pressure calculated.

DLR according to Appendix F API STD 650

Thanks for your reply. In SI units : I used Pf in KPa P (calculated in F4.1 ?) in Kpa Dlr in N D in meters Am i right?

DLR according to Appendix F API STD 650

Dear All, When you calculate the failure pressure $F.7 per API650 Addendum 3, shall we consider the value we calculated in F4.1? And in my case, the failure pressure is less than the maximum design pressure calculated in F4.1... It seems to me weird.. Did you experience that? Thanks

    EN13480-3 External pressure 9.3.4

Hi everyone, I'm facing to a problem when i calculate hs/R (0.25). It comes out of the table 9.3.4.2, how do you proceede when you get this? ncyl =3 In this case, hs/R =0.25 and ncyl =3 should i check paragraph 9.3.4.b? Thanks for your help

Emergency venting (in case of fire) for pressure pressure vessel

Hi everyone, I have to calculate flow rates from emergency venting for tank wich looks like to a pressure vessel. The tank is supported by legs. The bottom is an ellipsoidal head and the top is a flat head. Pmax :100mbar Vaccum : 30 mbar Temperature : 135 °C Which code do i use to get it. I...

    ASCE 7 Table 6-3

Thank you very much Mariog. One last question, i have to consider wind on conical roof but there are only formulations for domed roofs. Should i consider conical roof as a domed roof? Regards

    ASCE 7 Table 6-3

Hi I have to calculate a tank with API650. This tank isn't in USA and ASCE 7 is not applicable in Europe. I can't find the basic wind speed (3-sec gust speed). The basic wind speed given by Eurocode is averaged on 10 min. So i can't use this value because of the assumptions aren't the same. How...

API 650 Tanks Maximum Pressure as per Appendix F

Hi, I have a question about calculating the maximum design pressure for unanchored tankse a question on Annex F. The roof tank is supported by column. In F.4.1 Dlr equals to the amount of the nominal weight of roof plate and rafters supported by the roof-to-shell junction. The other one being...
