If the soil contain majority of sand, then it will act as sand (drained material) when subjected to loading. Index property of minor constituent does not help infer the behaviour of the sample, unless -200 is significant enough.
Does anyone know if I can find a book/manual/guide which explains "why we do what we do" for the advanced soil testing such as cyclic DSS; DSS creep; Resonant column, etc?

Can anyone tell me please why soil sample is comsolidated to pre consolidation pressure, and not current over burden pressure, before shearing? (Eg in DSS test)
