    I spoke with our AIA and he said you can't alter the flange. In his opinion to use the altered flange you must design per appendix 2. I'm in the process of confirming this from those higher up the ladder.

    In Mechanical Desktop 5.0 all you need to do to generate a 2d drawing is make a layout of whatever you want to export. While in drawing mode use the command AMVIEWOUT. This will export the view you select to a location of your choice.
