Inspecting assembled parts on car bumper line

If it ain't your job then how can you get ear ache? If my new car pitches up missing clips or screws I now know who to blame......[noevil]

    Pipeline

Everything is calculated/given to umpteen decimal places - that intrigues me a bit!

    Single phase alternator capacitor values.

As stated in the first Post "Lister Petter AD1 diesel generator" There will be a throttle assembly of some type where you can introduce more fuel to get it up to speed. As stated elsewhere on this thread you need someone who can tinker with kit like that. 3000 is a lot of revs for a diesel...

    Milk and aluminum

I would think that the fins are on the external surface of the cooler and will never come into contact with the milk unless there is a spill or failure resulting in a clean down to the drains. The product would not be returned to the system. Possibly a Galvanic corrosion depending on the...

Fire Pump Motor burning out on loss of phase

Nope, it's the Sump Pumps that have the problem.....[bigsmile]

Can you Disposition Laminations in Wrought A234 WPB Elbows?

In my experience cracks tend to be surface breaking. We are not talking hydrogen embrittlement at this age. You've had 30 years service so far. The Variable Spring arrangement should help smooth out the stresses and strains if they've been working and not seized half the time! (My guys even...

Can you Disposition Laminations in Wrought A234 WPB Elbows?

If you think these indications are new defects then you need to do an analysis to see if the system can still perform within design. However if they are new and growing then it's really a 'renew the elbows' situation. It does look like these are Legacy defects, they have been there since day...

Excessive construction project weld reject rate

In the early days of the Oil game here in Aberdeen, there were Fabrication Companies who had a very severe policy. If a repair was called that was attributed as a Welder Defect, ie slag, porosity or LOF, then the Welder was off the clock ie not paid while he repaired the work. If he had...

    There's the culprit......[2thumbsup]

Manual UT on special bevel (like K-bevel)

I assume you mean after the welding is complete? If so then the answer is yes, just make sure the UT Guy knows the prep.

Cross Country Pipelines - Bonding of Coating to Pipeline

I think this is a wind up....... Anyone else wish to explain?

Cross Country Pipelines - Bonding of Coating to Pipeline

A coating for this application is impermeable when applied correctly. I think you may be confusing 'coating bonding' with 'electrical bonding'.

Cross Country Pipelines - Bonding of Coating to Pipeline

Water gets under the coating and has O2 dissolved in it so all the ingredients for corrosion are present - the third requirement is already there - the steel pipe. 'Bonded' in this sense means 'tightly adhered' - that my be slightly confusing the issue.

    UT in lieu of RT

Phased Array is a form of Shear Wave UT which utilises many different angles of Shear in a 'Phased Array'. The results give a graphical illustration through the weld in many formats, A, B, C & D Scan. It is semi mechanised and can be fully mechanised, you get a set of results which include a...

    Periodic vibration in Mercedes

Very interesting thread gents. The one thing that jumps out to me is that the wheels are the same ones. I suggest borrowing a set of good wheels/tyres that don't give these vibrations and go for a run.....
