the vacuum breaker is there so as to protect against this scenario:
there is a temperature control valve at the steam inlet, when it throttles, the pressure will drop, maybe it can reach vacuum pressure, so it start sucking condensate, that is why the vacuum breaker is installed.
you can see...
Hello,
I am working on two steam systems, one of them is 10 bar and the other is 37 bar.
before the heat exchangers of each, there is a vacuum breaker installed. the thing is I can't find a vacuum breaker for the 37 bar system. so is there some other solutions to use instead of vacuum breaker...
Good morning
I was asked to make the selection of two steam traps after a heat exchanger.
what I see in the PID ( in the attachment) is that they use two steam traps, one of them is the normal one and the other is for the start-up. is the start-up one needed here, given that it is a condensate...
@gerhardl
Is this the connection you mean between the valve and the hosehttps://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=aea9fdb4-c77a-4c8b-8009-9f1e0dea2175&file=5CZE0_AS01.jpeg
What should be the connection between a pvc ball valve and a flexible hose that will go to a sewage pit. Also is better to just hang the hose loose in the pit or connect it to a pipe.
I was asked to make the technical specification for the strainers we have in the PID in order to send it to the suppliers asking for quotations.
What are the information I should put in this technical specification?
