Opinions Wanted: Fitting Under Sec VIII, Div. 1

SnTMan, As per UG 11(C), fittings under UG 16.9 are pressure parts that comply with ASME product standard accepted by reference in UG 44. As per UG 5(C) pressure parts, such as standard pipe fittings, welding caps, and flanges that are seamless or fabricated by one of the welding processes...

Sec VIII Div 1,Appendix.2 Flange thickness

Its an iterative method. The bolt size should be optimum for required cross-sectional area.In simple, If the bolt is too thin, it will not meet the required cross-sectional area of bolt & if it is too thick, Flange moment for Gasket seating condition may increase and you will get a thicker flange

    Zick Analysis Saddle

Zick method is an independent method of calculating saddle stress, which is included in div II.

    Shell and head thickness

refer UG-27,UG-28, UG-32, UG-33 of ASME SEC VIII DIV 1 for thickness due to internal and external pressure on shell and head of thin walled vessel.

    Tubesheet/Separator Plate with nozzle

tube sheet need stamp?? But it must be an internal part just to separate upper and lower plenum & will only be subjected to applied pressure..

saddle design for ASME sec 8 audit

You can refer Zick's method for calculating the effect of saddle support on vessel Main stresses are Longitudinal bending, Circumferential and tangential shear. Longitudinal stress should be added with stress in longitudinal direction (girth seam) to get total stress in compression. Regards Jithin

    Thermal expansion and displacement

I think for uniform thermal expansion, you can use basic equation dl/L=k*dT, where k is the temperature coefficient of that material
