    Bent Impeller Blades. What happened?

That's what I was told by a more experienced colleague. I had assumed clockwise when first looking at, but that's probably because I don't know an impeller from my elbow.

    Bent Impeller Blades. What happened?

I'm not able to get any better photos at this time. I agree there's not a lot to go off of. I was looking for spitball answers and you guys delivered, thank you. This is a horizontal shaft and I believe it's the second of two stages. There's an intercooler between stages, so I guess a...

    Bent Impeller Blades. What happened?

Might be off on the run backwards part.

    Bent Impeller Blades. What happened?

It has a screen and filter on the intake. At least it used to. Maybe I should go look to see if it got sucked through. It's a weird sort of damage though. It looks like it was run backwards with a softball inside. I'm at a loss.

    Anchor Flange

Pretty new myself, but I've seen large blocks of concrete buried and used to absorb forces in a line (thrust blocks). Looks like your anchor flange has a block to go with it. From the point of view of pipe stress, I would imagine you'd want some fixed points along with expansion loops to...

    Bent Impeller Blades. What happened?

641 HP centrifugal air compressor, 3045 ICFM design flow, 100 psig discharge to a common header (probably 1 other identical machine running at the time). High vibration alarm leads to disassembly and the discovery of bent impeller blades. I'm not sure what could have lead to this sort of...

    Unusual Valve Identification

There is a big "16" on the side, so I'm thinking PN16. I found this https://www.hawle.com/en/products/gate-valves/e3-gate-valve-pn10-pn-16-4000e3/ as well. Face to face looks correct. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

    Unusual Valve Identification

Thanks for the link Fuzzbox, I'll check them out. LittleInch, I checked the bolt circle diameter, but didn't think about the flange thickness. That's a good idea. I haven't been able to find any records or age of the valve.

    Unusual Valve Identification

I have a 16" gate (I think) valve (pic attached). The bolt circle seems to match standard 16-150, but the face to face is only 12". Everything else I can find is 16" face to face. I need to replace and I'm getting ready to use a wafer and spacer (to avoid messing with the old piping). Can...
