Thanks everyone for your valuable inputs to this thread.
We were facing the following 2 problems:
1. The way vehicle was lifted had some issue, after a point the whole vehicle started lifting up like a cantilever beam.
Now, at every height we put down the front wheels on Wooden blocks and...
Hi
This is the 1st time I am measuring CoG of a vehicle.
Method Followed:
1. All fluids filled.
2. All 4 suspension locked.
3. Load calculated at 4 wheels before raising the height from front.
4. Height of the vehicle lifted from front axle hard points (Not tires).
5. Weight calculated on...
The projected bolt thing is really a concern considering assembly of the component on the CAB.
I would like to thank all for their inputs on this thread. I will share my trial experience, once it is completed.

Hi
I am using NX 10.0
I have to measure around 200 points on a surface data of a vehicle. I have the scanned data available with me in *.stl format for which the file size is more than 2 GB.
Concern:
1. The file is taking more than 30 mins to import in NX 10.0.
2. After the file is opened...
If you have already done the trials and reduction in hole size is the result every time.
One Possible Solution:
1. You can manufacture a fixture, kind of a go gauge for the 2 micrometer restriction hole (I can see tapered cavity on the right side which can hold the gauge).
2. Put this go gauge...
Thanks Mike & Thanks Brian for giving your valuable time & inputs on this thread.
I agree on the fact that, I should have provided more information in order to receive a better reply.
I am new here and this is my first thread, hence I thought of keeping it succinct.
I will try to frame my...
Thanks Mike.
I considered the option of using adhesives with sealants to secure fasten the FRP sheet to the cleaned panel surface.
But I backed out because:
1. Cost:
a. The RM cost of the adhesive as a whole( Applied at >3 meters of at least 1 inch dia. adhesive).
b. To maintain...
Thanks Brian.
1. To mitigate the effect of exterior panel induced vibrations on the FRP sheet the idea to use a grommet sounds great. I will have a look at the motorcycle fairings & try the rubber grommets in my upcoming trial.
2. I understand that most of the FRP are prone to cracking, in my...
Hi,
I am working on a product which requires fixing of a 2.5mm thick sheet (FRP Material) on the exterior panel of a Vehicle (0.65 mm thickness).
Constraint:
1. The fixed product will undergo various weather conditions (Hot-Cold-Hot (2 Deg. - 50 Deg. Celsius) + Rain + Wind(15-70 Kmph) &...
