In order to do the neutralization , you should know the following basic formulas beforehand.
pH = - log10 [ H⁺ ] …………………..①
pOH = - log10 [ OH⁻ ] ……………..②
pH + pOH = 14 ……………………..③
Your inlet water pH is 2. According to formula ① ,
H⁺= 10⁻² mol ̷ L
Suppose the inlet flow is 50 m3 ̷ h .
So...
Sir this is regarding our SV 30 , Our activated sludge doesn't settle at all in a settlometer.So what we have advised to do is ,get 250 ml activated sludge sample ,dilute with permeate up to 1 L ,then let it settle for 30 min ,multiply the value by 4.That's how we get the 1500 ml (150 %)...
Please make me understand the following scenario also.If I happened to run the plant in the conventional gravity clarifier mode(in case of MBR breakdown) , what are the operational changes that I have to perform ,relative to these above mentioned conditions.
We are having a MBR treatment plant dedicated for a dairy industry.We are getting a 1500 ml SV 30 value and 6000 mg/l MLSS in aeration tanks. Our daily BOD load is 800 kg.I cant figure out any relationship between these two.
Yes sir , as you mentioned there were some process changes.First thing was we were running only one process blower (6500 m3/h)to aerate the 1500 m3 bioaeration tanks, which gave us 3 mg/l online DO level.But we found out that it was a false reading and now we are running 3 blowers simultaneously...
We are a food processing company , our main products are dairy (UHT , Milk powder) and noodle.
Our influent BOD is around 900 mg/l except in exceptional cases.We maintain the mlss near 4500 mg/l.
We adjust the pH 7- 9.5 .Our normal operating COD of treated water is <20 mg/l and BOD< 10 mg/l ,TSS...
The norm for COD is 250 mg/l and the actual value is 45 mg/l.The norm for BOD is 30 mg/l ,actual is 40 mg/l per day and 90 mg/l for 5 days. What is the reason for this relative to a waste water treatment plant ?
I need to figure out what is the amount of caustic we need to increase the pH of 1L water from 7 to 9 and the amount of HCL to bring down the pH of 1 L water from 7 to 5.
Here we find caustic granules of 99 % concentration and 32 % HCL .
Can you please work that out for me? I’d be grateful if...
I have one centrifugal pump in which the head is mentioned as 29 m .So the theoretical pressure according to the pressure should be 2.9 bar .But the actual pressure is 4 bar ? Can you please make me understand what is the difference....
