Working on a small project that has a fire pump. Instead of conducting a new flow test at the hydrant that is feed from the fire pump it was suggested to use the annual fire pump test. I’m trying to remember how to do that since it’s been years. Can someone help me out?
I have a light hazard building with Dry wall, 12" bar joists, with 6" of batt insulation on the dry wall and then a wood floor for above. So 6" of dead space above the insulation to the underside of the floor. Would this be considered Combustible Concealed space?
Thanks
Looking for some insight on this. We have a 16' high storage facility with metal products being stored. Looking at Figure 16.2.1.3.2b with high temp heads which brings the density to .325 over 2000. i am locking to apply figure 16.2.1.3.4.1 and I want to make sure I am right on this. It would...
Travis I am looking at the Talco system but I need a little more info if you dont mind helping me. I am looking at using tyco residential sidewall sprinklers. I am thinking if I use the 16 x 16 then it would 16 gpm and flowing 2 heads for 10 minutes would be a 350 gallon tank. But my problem is...
Hello all. New guy at this so please be kind. Looking at doing a 13d system for a house. Trying to figure out how calf the system with a home tank. I’m looking a flowing 2 sprinklers at the rates GPM needed. I also have a flow test. But do I use the flow test and the pump together? Or do I start...
Hi all, hoping someone can help me out. I have been asked to look at a daycare facility that is needing a fire sprinkler system. The facility is only a few thousand sqft but they are being required to have fire sprinklers. The main problem is that there is only a 1" domestic line coming into the...
Looking at a building that has vinyl window parts on moveable metal racks stored 16' high at the highest. Right now they have ELO231 sprinklers installed but no hydraulic plaquard. Trying to figure out what density they are using.
Looking at a tiny warehouse that has storage at 15' with building height at 20' Class I commodity on double row racks 15' high. If I use NFPA 16.2.1.3.2 (a) and point E it gives me a .29 over 2000 sq ft. And if I use the density reduction on 16.2.1.3.1 I can reduce the density to 60% which I am...
So the building is located in Northern Kentucky and it is just storage of the "pods" nothing in them. The location of the building is in an area where they "dont know how to use it", so sitting down with them they would say whatever NFPA states.
But considering just the boxes being stored...
I have a buddy of mine looking at a decent size warehouse. Its 41' to the deck and they are looking to store Uhaul Uboxes. Which are wood boxes for people to store their stuff in and they look like little sheds. They will probably be stored at 28' high in this open warehouse. If I look at the...
Thank you for your response. It looks like a fire pump with that rated capacity has a 10" suction and 10" discharge but the fire line looks to be 8". I am assuming that would be problem.
So I am trying to figure out what size fire pump I need. I have a guy that is storing tires and insurance is calling for k25 at 75 psi. My flow test is 162 psi 110 psi @ 1653 gpm. Newbie here just need a little help.
Thanks
