Does anyone know what X stands for in the roof thickness calculation formula? This does not look like a multiplier. I can not find what it is. If someone is using any tank software then can check the formula and let me know what does it. Thank you
How do I know what pressure to consider in a space (interstitial) between two walls of double wall vertical steel storage tank? The primary tank should be at atmospheric pressure.
Right Stephen. I looked into ASME Sec IX - Mandatory Appendix E for permitted SWPSs, which allows to use TIG, MIG and combination but as you mentioned that it really depends on different factors to decide which one to pick.
Thanks Geoff13 for response. Just for API 650 stainless steel shop built tank, do I have to use TIG or MIG? any idea? API sec.9 doesn't specify that. But in general, TIG is mostly use for Stainless steel so thinking about which one to choose TIG or MIG.
