Thanks for quick reply @ davefitz, metengr
@ davefitz
Actually the existing pipe is used with A312 TP347 hence the calculaion is considering that material.
@ metengr
We are using the seamless pipe but for 24" and above (upto 42") the welded pipes are used.
Hi All,
We are designing a pipe for high temperature service and using the base material as SS 347 for a temperature 649 deg C / 300#. The pipes seamless pipes are as below,
A312 Gr.TP347 (Seamless)
A358 Gr.347 CL.1 (Welded)
For Pipe wall thickness calculation we have used the B31.3 Table A-1...
Hi,
For carbon steel material, based on the curve in B31.3 we can use impact tested carbon steel pipe and other option to go for LTCS pipe material too.
but doubt is upto what limit we can go for Impact tested Carbon Steel material instead of selecting LTCS.
Hi,
In thickness calculation, generally we are going with mill tolerance of 12.5% for A106 Gr. B and other seamless pipe material, but since A672 made up of A516 plated so mill tolerance shall be different.
Kindly suggest what will be the exact value of mill tolerance we can consider for A672...
Hi Friends,
We have plate material available for Pressure vessel and spectacle blinds as A515 and A516 and in that we have several grades like in A516 we have 55, 60, 70. I want to use this plate material for spectacle blinds for 51.1barg pressure and 427 deg. temp.
Anyone can suggest the basis...
Hi,
In my datasheet, it is written as "ASTM A-53, A-106, API-5L, GR B SMLS (TRIPLE RATED) for Pipe"..What is mean by Triple rated material..Is there any standard for it???
Thanks
Hi all,
We have a requirement of ASTM A105 Normalized (A105N) for valve body, but vendor are proposing A105 Quenching & tempering (A105 Q/T).
I was searching for ASTM and other metallurgical books but didn't get anything, Is there any reason or so that we can accept this deviation?
Thanks
Hi
We are purchasing Check valve from Vendor and he is offering API 598 as a testing standard instead of BS EN 12266 which is a client requirement.
I have gone through BS EN 12266 in that basically standard mentioned some mandatory test which are mentioned below,
Shell Strength test
