    MCC Starter Replacement

If the AHJ has an issue with me modifying the listed assembly what would be a good option? The customer wants a soft-starter on the existing pump.

    MCC Starter Replacement

I understand what you are saying, what if it is a thermal magnetic type? Trying to cover all bases since I am bidding a project this week with this combination.

    MCC Starter Replacement

Does anyone know if an existing across-the-line motor starter inside a motor control center bucket can be changed to a 'soft-starter' without having any issues with NEC? Only wanting to change the starter, not the breaker, control transformer, etc. thanks

    Bad Power Factor

When the electric service was replaced, a backup generator and automatic transfer switch were also installed for the pump station. It looks like the generator would be constantly running if the incoming power was excessively unbalanced. But I didn't setup the transfer switch either.

    Bad Power Factor

What kind of issues 'could' we have with the VFD's? (Adding the capacitors)

    Bad Power Factor

This installation has been in service for a year now, and every month the 'electric bill' indicates a 10% loss, now it has leveled out to around 20%. This is a rural electric utility.

    Bad Power Factor

Hello, Recently a pumping station was upgraded and the 'part-wind' starters and power factor correction capacitors for three 60hp 480 pumps were replaced with ABB ACQ580 variable frequency drives. Ever since this upgrade, the power factor has dropped every month, dropping from 90% PF (with the...
