    Atmospheric pressure vessel in PVElite

yes. it does contain liquid. i know that PVE takes into consideration the pressure exerted by the height of the liquid but if i put 0 as internal pressure PVE gives a warning( i think it has something to do with the fact that a 0 pressure gives a null formula for calculation of minimum required...

    Atmospheric pressure vessel in PVElite

Hello, my coleague and i have a dis agrement about how to design a atmospheric pressure vessel in PVElite ( I know that PVElite is not intended for this kind of job but the firm we are working for has no other software) - my view is that we should introduce something like 0.01 barg as an...

    PED 97/23/EC tmin calc ?

PED 97/23/EC is NOT a design code , is a european directive for introducing on the market pressure vessels. Most likely your vessel is designed according to EN 13445-3 which is in compliance with PED . I am not sure if AD2000 is in full compliance with PED.

Vessel legs attached to head on PV

Have a look at EN 13445-3 chapter 16.11.1 . Also a software that does that kind of calculation is Bentley Vessel. PVElite does not have the ability to model or to calculate legs on heads ( i tried and it just extends the legs throu the head to where they were supposed to be if they were...

Vertical vessel - reinforcing pad for legs EN 13445

Hello, there are a few conditions about having reinforcing pads for legs as well as for brackets ( having the same thickness as shell, minimum height, minimum with ) . I don't remember however about a formula to give minimum required thickness of the reinforcing pads (neither in EN nor in ASME ).

Pressure Vessel deigned to BS EN 13445-3 designed incorrectly ?

NovaStark, from what i can tell from your thread , your company bought a old pressure vessel and now you want to see if it holds up to your installation. Am i right ? If that is the case , r6155 is right about "Actual calculations shall be made without adding corrosion allowance, then compare...

Pressure Vessel deigned to BS EN 13445-3 designed incorrectly ?

Hello, i have a few comments on your calculation and vessel for that matter : 1 - you say that the head's material is S235JR+N . first of all this material is used for structural constructions, not for pressure vessels. EN 13445-3 clearly states which materials are to be used for pressure...

    Schedules for LWN nozzles

hello, you are not alone. I've seen this in other specifications as well.In my experience , when we encounter this formulation, we use LWN for all connections 2" and below. You are right : for LWN there is no schedule.
