We don't consider ice as a cooling source in our calculations,
Again my question is about fresh air requirements for sport arena, to me 7.5 CFM/person for spectators make the system so big and energy cost of this system will be significantly high.
Hello,
I'm sizing fresh air requirements for a Hockey arena.
Play area is 200 ft * 85 ft, there is seats for 1000 spectators. Based on ASHRAE 62.1 2010, I should consider 17000 sq.ft * 0.3 cfm/sq.ft + 7.5 CFM per person.
This gives me 12,600 CFM, which means I should select a unit to cool down...
Hello,
I'm looking for a CFD modeling software to use it for ventilation/pressurization pattern modeling for a food plant.
I have different temperatures in various rooms with connecting openings. We should assure that requested pressure gradient is maintained with MAU and EX systems we put in...
I'm doing HVAC design for a new food processing plant. (fish processing and packaging facility)
Is there any specific cfm/p and cfm/sq.ft on ASHRAE 62.1 which I could use for outdoor ventilation.
Since most rooms are refrigerated, it's too costly to overdesign the system. I was told that for...
I'm in Toronto, Canada.
So, you mean the numbers are very close to conventional heating/cooling systems.
What if I increase the velocity and minimize temp difference, I'm hoping to maintain relatively constant surface temperatures on panels and work with lower temperatures.
Many panel...
Thanks Bron,
Let me give you some numbers, the primary heat/cold source is refrigeration engine room that we're designing:
- I can get a high grade heat as water of 120 F from superheated refrigerant HEX. (around 600 MBH)
- Condensing temp on my refrigeration system is 95 F, which shall be WG...
I'm planning to use waste heat and some redundant cooling from a refrigeration system (Water Glycol-40%) for an office building. I'll go with radiant ceiling to get dual function, but I'm not sure about the temperatures of cooling and heating liquid.
- Should heating temperature for ceiling...
B149 is not in OBC, however we should meet its requirements for TSSA.
To provide interlock between make up air and exhaust system, it should be all done thru control system. When even one fan out of a group of six or eight is not running, one MUA shuts down. Basically, I'll tie each MUA with a...
MUAs are constant speed and no turn down capability;
Code asks to interlock EFs to MUAs, although we need an intermediate controller to make sure all fans are on to turn on MUA which doesn't provide us the best operating conditions. As you're saying there are many EFs, for instance in each oven...
Thank you for responses,
I'm reviewing two options:
1- Installing static pressure controller for zone served by each MUA and control air pressure at almost neutral level
2- Adding airflow switches on each exhaust fan and get the signals from these switches and control MUAs.
Code doesn't clearly...
Our customer has purchased four direct fired MUAs for a bakery building, constant speed each 50,000 CFM. There are many exhaust fans in the building mostly integrated with process equipment. B149.1 requires these MUAs to be interlocked with exhaust fans. Each MUA cannot be interlocked with more...
I'm designing cooling/ventilation system for a cut flower production plant in Ontario, Canada.
There is nothing specific in ASHRAE 62.1 for this application.
Should I use a specialized exhaust/Make up air system for removal of gases or some sort of breathing for this building.
Thanks,
