Hello guys,
I would like to know if I would be able to get the envolope of spectral accelerations for a set of points after a time history analysis.
Thank you in advance..
Hi guys,
I am working with the OAPI interface of SAP2000 using excel Macros. I would like to know if i would be able to read the length of a frame object through OAPI. I couldnt find any function that is returning the length in the help menu.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.
@JasonMcKee71 - Yes I have given the automesh option. It takes time at step 22 - Area Elements. I figured it is because of automesh in area. Thankyou..
Thank you for your response...
But don't you think once you mesh the area and then apply it is again a complete load on a the shell element and not a "patch" load.
During analysis, the creation of the analysis model is taking about 3 to 4 hours. Is there any option for me to retain this analysis model for the futher analysis so that i can save the time taken on creating the model again?
Thank you @Shz713 and @stressed for your response.
But i think you guys are not clear with my query. What i wanted to know was if i could linearly interpolate between the two input response spectra that i have defined to get the required accelaration for a damping equal to the modal damping...
Hey Guys,
I understand that during the analysis the response spectrum function will automatically adjust to cater for modal damping when the spectrum is defined as per a particular code that is built in.

I am relatively new to SAP and I have been using STAADPRO till date. I have a doubt regarding loading on an area element in SAP2000. I would like to know if there is any method to apply a point load on a plate element or a patch load on a plate element. The same can be done in STAAD, so was...
