Dear All
I am having these warning messages (behaving for me as errors because I am not getting updated results).
Warning-1: "Current result file may not contain requested result data C:\Users\SYED MEESAM ALI\AppData\Local\Temp\Bolted Nozzle Flange.tmp\Bolted Nozzle...
Hi IRstuff,
Thanks for replying back. I have attached some more details regarding insulation of the tank as well as the related codes. All the relevant information is as in this link.

Kindly review the same and recommend good strategy / software /...
Dear iainuts,
Thanks for your response. You're right normally cryogenics are below -150 C but here still as the Butene is in liquid form and also maybe client wants to call it so its called as cryogenic. I am looking for a software which can take inputs as parameters related to various...
Hello Everybody,
We have a cryogenic tank which is housing BUTENE at -6.4 degree celsius. We have various insulation layers for the tank along with following technical data for the tank.
1. Tank diameter (inside) = 36.00 m
2. Tank height = 10.80 m
3. Liquid level = 10.50 m
4. Storage material =...
Dear dhengr,
Thanks for your response. Actually we have contacted the supplier but the problem is mostly they are NOT willing to share the design and mixing ratio details as they treat is sort of their own trade secret. They can supply blocks as per requirement but then to replace blocks again...
Hi Gumpmaster,
Thanks for the response. No I don't have much information about ACI 213 ? Can you please share more info on this and how it relates to "perlite concrete" specifically.
Much appreciated.
Dear All,
We have a project where the client needs replacement of some of its damaged perlite blocks supporting the cryogenic tank containing liquid BUTENE at operating temp. of -6.4 degrees celsius. Client doesn't have ANY specs or details related to existing blocks and some of the existing...
Hi bridgebuster,
Actually this project is related to a research project where we are trying to find out optimum usage of space structures as they have lesser weight and are easier to construct / assemble. I just wanted to do analysis to find out main forces and compare with some other models...
Hi Bridgebuster,
thanks for the response. Width is very less and is 2.4m. Length of one span is 6m. Right now i have modeled the frame elements (i.e. 3D truss) and the actual load will come on slab which will cover the 3d grid. But i am NOT modeling slab right now. So how can i apply the load...
Dear All,
I am working on a model of 3D space structure for bridge span. The space structure will ultimately support the bridge slab for taking various loadings. Structure is modeled in STAAD and the members are tubular with 2mm wall thickness and 20cm squares in plan. I have attached a model...
Hi Everybody,
We have a project related to installation of CP system for a very prestigious Oil & Gas client for its LIVE gas plant. Our company is taking care of the civil part which is mostly related to excavation works, reinstatement after installation of CP anodes, augering for various...
Thanks LittleInch for your insightful review. Can you please give some more information about CAT Scan and how it is performed? Also any info about supplier is appreciated. For me the major restriction is that it is a LIVE plant and by no means we can afford to do even a slightest mistake. We...
Thanks Ron for your quick reply. Actually we have mostly underground buried piping which consists of pipes for various utilities i.e. potable water, sewage water, contaminated water, gas lines, chemical lines etc. Most of these pipes are 6" dia or more and are spaced properly so hopefully...

Hi Kyut and Jhardy1,
There is connection design option in STAAD called RAM Connection. I have just attached one image here for your reference only. I did a quick column to beam SP BCF type connection design. You can see from attached image that where connection design option is located...
Hi Kyut,
Which version of STAAD are you using? If you're using STAAD.Pro v8i then surely it has a utility of CONNECTION DESIGN and it's really an excellent utility for 3D connection design. It has intuitive interface as well as tutorials in the help menu.
Hello Ingenuity,
Welcome back. I got results from the supplier i.e. BASF and following are the results. Just sharing as a reference for other people who may come across such jobs in future.
Please see the mixing ratio of Masterflow 190 with Rheomac UW404
Masterfow 190 : 25 kg
Rheomac UW...
Dear Ingenuity,
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. I have one last question before I prepare my final estimation and quotation for client. I'm bit confused regarding exact mix-design. Should I use some proportion of coarse or fine aggregates for my final mix design or is it OK that...
If you want to seal wet cracks (leakage injection) then you can use a combination of Nitofill UR63 (70%) / Nitofill WS60 (30%) and both these products are from FOSROC. To seal DRY cracks you can use Nitofill EPLV from Fosroc.
Equivalent products in BASF are Concresive 1320 / 1335 for wet cracks...
Hi everybody,
We're bidding for a project where we have to do some grouting works onshore as well as offshore. Offshore grouting will be done underneath an outfall structure consisting of diffusor structure (diagram attached). The structure got dislocated from it's original position and got...
