ASCE has a publication that I have used for designing industrial ductwork. "The Structural Design of Air and Gas Ducts for Power Stations and Industrial Boiler Applications". It covers material selection, design loads, service conditions, load combinations, plate design and stiffener...
AISE Technical Report 13 Section 5.18.6 addresses crane girder and rail alignment as does AISC Design Guide 7. There is also a good article on Tips for Avoiding Crane Runway Problems by Ricker which is...
The bearing bars carry the floor load and span from one beam to the next. The cross bars provide lateral support for the bearing bars and do not carry any floor load. Therefore the grating is supported on two sides.
A few years ago my company was hired as a third party consultant to review structural calculations for ground mounted solar panels. The client was concerned because there were a few structural failures that occurred in the NE due to snow loads. We were given a document published by a leading...

Attached is a page from PCA Design of Liquid-Containing Concrete Structures for Earthquake Forces by Munshi. h is in feet and t is in inches.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=47df2985-8b20-47be-8a48-6f47b8b9b161&file=PCA_doc.pdf
We are currently working on a proposal in Saskatchewan. We have been instructed by the geotech to install 150mm void forms (also known as frost cushions)under all grade beams and pile caps to prevent uplifting by soil heaving.
Berniedog,
To change the subject for just a minute - attached is the article on the Design of Stacking Tubes you were looking for months ago.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=85c81013-f45d-4253-8d2e-da09cdd99d6c&file=Stacking_tubes.pdf
Bernie,
Sorry it took so long, only 3 months, but here's the article on design of stacking tubes by Safarian and Harris.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=62e863ca-804c-4cd4-bd0c-2fffffa8d6fa&file=Stacking_tubes.pdf
My experience with double angle bracing is to have both continuous angles in the same "group" or direction, with the discontinuous angles in the other "group" or direction. I believe this method is also easier for the detailer.
Here is another reference that may help. It's from a webinar by ASCE on Nonbuilding structures and components. See slides 28 thru 30.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=16f876c8-896b-4f8e-ac23-c2ffa97c4be2&file=ASCE_Nonbuilding_Structures_and_Components.pdf
I'm still looking for Safarian and Harris. Another reference is ACI313 Standard Practice for Design and Construction of Concrete Silos and Stacking Tubes for Storing Granular Materials. I recall the maximum design case having to do with the removal of a 60 degree sector of material around the...
Bernie,
I used to work for a company that designed them and I have a copy somewhere. I will search and get back to you. Another reference is Handbook of Concrete Engineering by Fintel,Chapter 15, Reinforced Concrete Chimneys.
