In our Company we decided to implement the DIN 16742 std
for tolerancing injected plastic parts.
The std is quite clear but, in my opinion , it's not complete
and doesn't cover all aspects for Tol and GD&T necessary in a drawing.
Who has experience with this std ?
I'd like to share...
Hi everybody.
According to ASME standard
1 - the section names must be different from I, O, S ,...
Is it a same rule also for Auxiliary Views or detailed views ?
2 - In the same drawing is it possible to have one section , one auxiliary view and a detailed view
with the same name (e.g. A ) for...
Hi everybody.
I'm preparing new formats for ASME drawing.
I need also to define a zoning for the formats.
Reference is ASME 14.1M-2012.
In the table 4-1 the zones for A0 size is defined with 50mm length
BUT starting from ... ? "format" bottom right vertex or "margin" bottom right vertex ?

I used a CAD system and , of course, it will be not so complex to change the orientation of dimensions, even if this will mean that I will have to change their positions to make drawing readable.
Thank you everybody.
I know that the difference in dimension orientation is not the worst problem in conversion to ASME drawings.
Anyway it could be the most "apparent" difference and, also in my opinion, it's not so practical.
I also know that the word "should" give me a chance, but I wonder...
I had to convert my drawings from ISO to ASME std.
In accordance with ASME Y14.5M standard
the "dimensions should be placed on drawing
to read from the bottom of drawing" ( section 1.7.5.2 ).
That means a vertical dimension is written in horizontal way .
But the standard uses "should" and not...
