I started my studies and career during the board to computer transition. Only 2 of my college courses used Autocad. Both on IBM 8088 green screen computers and all work was done directly on 5 1/4" floppy disks.
First job was approx 50/50 hand drawings to Autocad on brand new 286 computers and...
I have only worked with SW 2006 and 2007 but at 2 different companies and 5 different computers and have always had this problem. It was one of my biggest pains when I first changed jobs and went from PRO/E to SW. In PRO/E you can place parts by default for those that have never used it. I just...
Ok I'll say it, "I'm a dumb@$*". I guess it's just going to be one of those weeks. Trying to hurry and make up for 2 days down time and end up not thinking everything all the way through.

I recently noticed that when I print models or color prints from Solidworks my colors don't match what I have on my screen. i.e. blues are purple, reds are much lighter etc. Grays & blacks are fine though. When I create PDF's and print them then the colors are correct. It's not a real big deal...
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Both offices do interact, we access the same files at the same time. Example: if I check out a assembly they cannot access it but can access the subassemblies & parts.
We also have 1 engineer who works from home/on the road a lot and he uses remote access.

We currently have been using it here for the last 1-1/2 years. It's the only PDM software I have ever used (15yrs in design)so I can't compare it to others but, it seems to work well for us. It has the usual quirks and anoyances like all software does. The search, copy and rename functions are...
