    Diesel fuel containment dike

@LittleInch Thanks for your answer. I dont have a double skin tank. I think its a good idea but this has not been implemented in other building in the project. for the sake of uniformity I am trying to follow what we have done for other buildings in the project. just a constricted and...

    Diesel fuel containment dike

@Pennpiper I have already considered common sense. thanks for your advise anyway. We do not have a dedicated room for the mentioned tank. rather, it will be housed in the generator room. we are talking about the containment dike in a room and not a whole space serving as a spill containment.

    Diesel fuel containment dike

Hi Everyone We have a 2.7 cubic meter Day tank which needs a containment dike. I need some advise regarding the containment dimensions I calculated the volume of the dike same as the volume of the tank and a little more so that in an event of leakage the oil wont go out of the dike. my...

Diesel Day Tank Location and Dimensions

@LittleInch Thank you. we are only considering a rectangular tank to meet the day tank volume requirements. Will wait for more answers.

Diesel Day Tank Location and Dimensions

@pedd I believe you are referring to NFPA 6.3.2.1. where 2500 L is the maximum volume allowed if the tanks are not placed in a separate room. we currently have NOVEC 1230 for the generator room. I know from previous projects that FOAM was used. I think this Fire suppression system for the...

Diesel Day Tank Location and Dimensions

@LittleInch The generator capacity is high and the selected manufacturer does not have a Belly tank in the generator and hence the day tank. the project requires us to have a day tank of 8 hours capacity and a bulk storage of 48 hours. This is standby genset Gen consumption is 330L/hr based on...

Diesel Day Tank Location and Dimensions

@miningman The generators can operate on 53C with derating. they have selected a larger generator to deal with the higher temperature. This is in saudi arabia. people are used to higher temperatures here. so operators going in for maintenance during summer time is not a problem

Diesel Day Tank Location and Dimensions

Hi Guys I would like to get help regarding a Diesel Day tank which will be located inside the generator room. can you please help me with the following concerns 1. I have limited space in the generator room so I am planning to Design a 4000(L) x 300(W) x 3000(H) Day tank. but, I am not sure...

Pipe Fittings K Factors for 56" Pipe

I am looking for a standard table from IPC/UPC/ASHRAE/ANSI/ASME etc for pipe fittings k-factors, for larger pipes like till 56" (carbon steel with cement lining) I have reference for equivalent fitting method but I need K-factors for pipe fittings/valves for pipes as large as 56" or larger even...

    WPS3.01 Rev.1

Hi Everyone I would like to ask about WPS3.01 Rev.1 (standard) this is used as a reference for specifying the weather conditions (indoor/outdoor), I need info regarding where I get the standards or buy it if necessary

    Surge Tank Sizing

@LittleInch if you worked here in Riyadh then you should know abt DONGO & METITO, they are the people who are mainly involved in these projects, I saw their sites the surge vessel looks big man, its horizontal & super huge so you see we quote good price for the vessel we can pay for it no...

    Surge Tank Sizing

This is the exact situation... this tank is not atmospheric.... so I did'nt know if it was a closed system but anyway thanks for the guidance so thats abt it..... @BIMr what are he most important points I would need to find an approximation of this tank size??? obviously I am still working on...

    Surge Tank Sizing

@bimr thanks for your help, the thing is I dont think client will agree on us not installing the surge vessel as it is included in the BOQ & there are other such sites and I saw one em had a very big pressure tank for surge.... and the thing is these pumps are meant to distribute water in the...
