    Modeling 3D revolved section views

This is what I had in mind: http://www.dmd-online.co.uk/Images/port_pump1.jpg However, the assembly I'm working on is too large (file weight) for these options. I'll have to think of another solution. Thanks for the tips though alex

    Modeling 3D revolved section views

Thanks for the tip but I tried something similar (waved the assembly and tried this... however after 30 minutes of waiting NX hadn't finished creating the wave. This is one large assembly!)

    Modeling 3D revolved section views

Hello, I'd like to know if it's possible to create revolved section views in the modeling application? Thanks

    Identification symbol with part-number/name

Hi, I might have part of the solution. -In the identification symbol dialog, click on the "A" next to the text field. -Once in the next dialog box, right under the area where you type text, select "Relationships" from the "Category" drop down menu. -From there, you have access to different...

    NX10 Drafting dimension issue

Cowski, you've just earned yourself a STAR. I was able to select the face (something weird though, I could see the element being highlighted after I selected it) and I was able to get the dimension in the proper direction. Thanks!

    NX10 Drafting dimension issue

Thanks for the tip but it's not working. Perhaps I should mention that the view shown in attachment is a projected view of a cylindrical surface. When using an inferred dimension, it giving me a radial dimension and I can't select any other line. However, I was able to use a turnaround...

    NX10 Drafting dimension issue

Oops, I thought the file had uploaded. I think it should work this time. Thanks!http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=30e62ef3-0b39-429b-bf83-e5705cf26b4b&file=engtip.JPG

    NX10 Drafting dimension issue

Hi everyone, I'm currently working on a drafting and I'm currently having an issue with a dimension. I need to size a rectangular feature of which its sides aren't aligned with the horizontal and vertical axis (as shown in the attached document). The features are a line and a point. The reason...

    Shortcut toolbar NX9.0

I can say that after a week of not being able to turn off there shortcut toolbars (as stated above, they don't "stay" off!), it's really annoying. Ending deleting or hiding a part because that damn toolbar appears isn't something I'll get use to or get to appreciate. I hope that I'll find a...

    Shortcut toolbar NX9.0

Thanks for the answers. But this is exactly what I did and the bars either keep coming back (even when switching from a file to another) or I can't disable them at all. I guess I'll have to get use to it... Thanks

    Shortcut toolbar NX9.0

John, the issue I have is that the specific toolbar that shows a constraint button when selecting a component in an assembly doesn't show up in the customization menu. I don't know if there's an other way of "calling" for that toolbar by activating assembly mode or something? I tried several...

    Shortcut toolbar NX9.0

Hello guys, I've went through the process of removing these shortcut toolbars that appeared. I got rid of these since I didn't really like that feature except for one stubburn bar; the constraint bar. Whenever I select a component in an assembly, I get this tiny box which I can't turn off or...

best practice for csys & other feature display mgt in assemblies & subassemblies

From the way NX works I would think it is better to use layers. To prevent the "hidden unknown layers", use categories of layer. A good practice would also be to predefine a range of layers for different objects (like 100-120 for datums, 120-140 for sketches, etc..) I wasn't convinced at first...
