How to calculate the deflection of a beam that is supported by 2 posts.

I have tried to use Roark and Young but I am struggling to find equations that are not in equilibrium and therefore cannot find the deflection. I think I will have to try another method

How to calculate the deflection of a beam that is supported by 2 posts.

I am in my final year just haven't done this for a while. I have done FEA on this I am just trying to validate it with some hand calculations. I will have a look into Roark and young then and see where I get to. Thanks again

How to calculate the deflection of a beam that is supported by 2 posts.

Hi, The beam would be welded to the side posts and those posts are fixed to the ground in this example. The cross section (not sure if it matters too much) is square box section. Thanks for the input so far.

How to calculate the deflection of a beam that is supported by 2 posts.

Do I just treat it as a beam that is fixed at both ends or is there a method that takes the height of the posts into consideration? Thanks in advance
