water induction preventing main stop valve to work.

Hi mk3223, Thanks for your post. Unfortunatelly, I don't have any sketch. I do known that huge water induction took place from a high level boiler situation. The turbine's main stop valve has been found 80% closed (near of). As the huge water mass was passing through at the same time stop valve...

water induction preventing main stop valve to work.

Hello, I'm facing a problem where has been said that a huge water induction in a steam turbine prevent the main stop valve from close. I wonder to known if this sounds good for anyone or about papers that treat this subject. Thanks. JokaSteel.

FATIGUE CURVE IN ASME FOR STAINLESS STEEL 316L

Hello Fellow Engineers, I am working with stainless steel 316L(25oC) under the ASME Standard. I didn't find the fatigue curve for such steel, as the nomenclature in ASME Section II Part D is not usual to me. Could someone help me in finding such curve? Thanks, Joka.

    effective section modulus for angles

Does anybody known how to calculate the effective section modulus for angles. The design is by Eurocode and for a 3"x3"x5/15" angle, SAP2000 give me Weff,y=0.707 in^4 and Wy=1.746in^4. Also the effective area is igual the section area. I would expect such sections with the same modulus. Anybody...

effective section modulus for single angle

Hello, Does anyone known how calculate the effective section modulus for an angle section ? I am using Eurocode, which is not clear in this matter... I have an 3"x3"x5/16" Angle and SAP2000 gave me Wel,yy=0.707in^4 and Weff,yy=1.746in^4. Also, A=Aeff, i.e., the effective area it takes as the...

    Rbe3 in SAP2000

Hello, I have a box of bars supporting a bar inside the cube (imagine 8 bars on the edges of a cube and one bar, parallel to either side, but at the center of the cube) . I have modeled with SAP2000 frames and I need to link the internal bar so that I transfer only the mass to the box...

    Equivalent seismic horizontal loads

Hi frv, The wind load is an example only. I would like to learn how to do such kind of combination. As asixth said, a computer package is necessary. I am searching if my package do that (femap/nastran) and also for another package that do such sum "internally". Do you have any suggestion...

    Equivalent seismic horizontal loads

Thanks again, asixth. I have the nx-nastran package. I will see in the documentation if there is a easy way to do that. Do you known if it is possible with nx-nastran? Joka.

    Equivalent seismic horizontal loads

Thanks Mike and asixth for your answers. Maybe I am a step before that. The reason I want an equivalent static stress is that I want to sum up this load (from response spectrum) with wind load (this one I get from an static analysis). How can I combine this two loads, as I combine wind load...

    Equivalent seismic horizontal loads

Hello everyone, I am a beginner in the seismic analysis and I am stuck in two points. To illustrate my first question, I will take as example a 2 rigid floor building. My doubt is after the response spectrum analysis (suppose horizontal load) is performed; If I want to perform an static...
