Failure in Bend Test-Combination Process GTAW+GMAW As per ASME Sec.IX-Procedure Qualification

It seems like you need to increase you WFS to increase amperage into the spray mode. I don't know your parameters but estimating a travel speed of 12 inches per minute and 22 volts, you end up with approx 170 - 180 amps. Too low for spray mode. Filling the joint with GMAW-S is not a good...

    ASME UW-12 question

UW-12(d) only applies to circumferential stress (long seams) and head thickness calculations. It cannot be applied to the joint you are referring (cat B, longitudinal stress). For this you must use the table. Check the notes as well, as the longitudinal stress probably will not govern.

    Part Marking

Identification and Traceability are one in the same....identification is done for traceability purposes. It all comes down to your QC Manual....what it says you must follow. Marking the heat number or a coded marking system is necessary for traceability, but the schedule is not necessary as it...

    Nace mr0175 hardness survey

In regards to NACE MR0175 (sour service) does clause 7.3.3.4 apply in all cases? In other words must I ALWAYS hardness test production welds or "sample coupons" when sour service is applicable? I have reviewed a few posts on this subject on this site which give bewildering replies. If I am...
