currently we are having hand shear vane and shear box tests done to clarify what the soil is. Also boreholes and trial pits will be done to determine what the layers are. unfortunately we can't get a geotechnical engineer in to assess it. The cut is to be about 4m high. I'm only really interested in assessing the 2:1 slope as i'm fairly sure the 1:1 slope will stand up fine. The slope is to be in place for approx. 5 months. I've been set the task of designing a temporary batter behind a subway wall.
