    Ug-34 (m)

Hello, Is there any calculation dictated by ASME on UG-34 sketch m for example. Of course "t" of flat head you can find, but retaining rings or threads in different sketches, is there any "approved" calculation procedure?

    Dome roof

THX, It's true API doesn't prohibit other designs as well (read that later), my last question would then be: what are ways of calculating thoose designs? FEA?

    Dome roof

Hopefully tank experts can help me here. I'm not API designer (I use ASME and EN) but I got a project to check and thought I could learn something new in process. A tank is API 650 19m diameter with dome roof. Dome roof as I can see has radial and circumferental structers (rafters and girders)...

    ASME UW-12 question

SO basically use the table, depending on E and weld type see what scope of testing you need?

    ASME UW-12 question

I'm talking about circumferental weld between seamles pipe (shell) and seamless head

    ASME UW-12 question

I have a question ragarding UW-12 when head and shell are seamless. If I understood correctly joint efficiency E=1 when spot radiography requirements of UW-11a5b are met. But if I preform no radiography or do not met above requirement E=0,85? Also if one uses weld type no. 3,4,5 or 6 E=0,85?

    ASME Code for PED Vessel

Agree with XL83NL, use ASME Materials, though a lot of manufacturers are now giving dual certificate. 2.2 for non pressure parts will be fine, unless in some off shore projects

    Loads on legs support

THX, That is the main problem, thoose numbers we got, basically 17kN when you combine vector in one direction, look very strange, almost impossible looking at entire pipework. Trouble is we are only hired to do vessel, and price is going up for huge legs or skirt. I managed to found this...

    Loads on legs support

Hi, Maybe this was answered before but I don't have luxury of time to search entire forum, so hopefully I can get some help. We got small, relatively standard vessel to design. We later received forces and moments on nozzles, one moment, circumferential one, was 5.5 kNm and that forced us to...

    Part of pipe weld

Thx for answer, yes we put quite a big radius but I was wondering if there is some special section in ASME on this, obviously there isn't.

    Part of pipe weld

I have a question considering weld that is both circumferential and longitudinal. Basically part of pipe needs to be cut down and they welded back together, between welds in both direction there is a radius of course. My question is: is there similar examples in ASME to look in to it?

    Fillet weld

Can you instruct me where in ASME code is calculation for fillet weld size (throat size). I have two plates, one of top another, same thickness, and a = 0,7 x t equals decimal number. (12mm plate on 12mm plate, 0,7x12=8,4). Of course that is max. "a" you can use since going with there is no...

    Weld shape

Exactly, that is the main problem, angle is afwul. In ASME VIII there is an example of similiar problem and it's hanled like on the image, basically nozzle is welded like weldolet.

    Weld shape

Hi, Can someone share examples of weld shape between connector and shell at an angle like on the image: thx in advance

    CATIa weld design

Hi, I need to create weld beads and weld preparations, even though I'm currently working in Solidworks, and it has less options than Catia, in spare time I returned to my first love :) Catia. So my question is: how to create weld in weld design for cylindrical parts. I'm googling it, but all I...

    ASME reinforcement welding

Thx for quick answer. Yes, I wasn't clear enough in openin post, asme VIII div. 1. fillet. I'll go check UW-16 asap.

    ASME reinforcement welding

Hello, I'm searching ASME manual, but I just remmbered I registered here as well so maybe someone could save me reading hours. I need rule for welding reinforcement part of pipe to shell pipe. Trouble is if I use standard a=0,7 tmin. I don't have enough pipe thickness, since "a" is calculated...

    Quick question

That's right, I need it to be in two parts for further manifacturing and drawing, I could also copy/paste sketch from eliptical cap and then groove clynder, but I'm lookin for a way to trim the lump in product and not in part...so yes, I would like for cylnder to follow the curve from cap and...

    Quick question

I would welcome some help in removing part in assembly. I did managed to solve problem using GSD-part combination but I'm wondering is there a better way. My first part is eliptical cap (for gas containers) and the other is clynder. What I need to do is cut cylnder bottom to match cap shape...
