Concrete Pad and Steel Spreader Plate Sizing

I am trying to learn here and hiring a structural engineer does not help that, besides, it's simlpe enough not to have to hire a structural engineer! Just asking for some guidance, thats all. 'Give a man a fish and he has food for a meal, teach a man to fish and he has food for life'.

Concrete Pad and Steel Spreader Plate Sizing

Thanks for the reply, Since posting I've gotten my head around the design of the reinforced concrete pad. The design requires that we don't have a depth less than 300mm (which, for my application is too large). So I'm very intrested in sizing a steel spreader plate. Any takers? Cheers

Concrete Pad and Steel Spreader Plate Sizing

Hi, I'm attempting to calculate the size(mainly the depth)of a reinforced concrete pad that sits on ground with an allowable stress of 50KN/m2 and taking a load of 250KN. Also the size (mainly the depth) a steel spreader plate for the same design parameters. It's a bit more complicated than I...

    Plinth Design

Hi, Simply a concrete base for the Cryogenic Plant (Nitrogen Tank, Compressors, Cooling Towers ect...)to sit on. One of the plints will be built on the earth/original ground, while the other will be built on a existing bund. Hope that helps.

    Plinth Design

thread194-243821 Hi Engineers, I'm about to embark on designing some plinths for some Cryogenic Plant (Nitrogen Tank, Compressors, Cooling Towers ect...). Is there a publication (UK) which give design examples of such plinths. I've got the Concrete Society's Technical Report 34, which gives...
