I am making a drawing that shows the assembly steps of one of our products (a pneumatic valve). I made a cross sectional view of the assembly for each step in the process, then hid the components that are not used in a given step.
For instance, the first step is to put 2 o-rings on a piston...
I tried this, but I think it has the same basic problem as my method. The Assembly>Extruded Cut worked well and looks good when brought into the drawing. I can make multiple copies in the drawing, but they are not hatched. I then use the Area Hatch/Fill to hatch the drawing view, but then can't...
I'm making a drawing that requires multiple (identical) copies of a sectional view. The way I did this was just to repeat the section command multiple times. Unfortunately, the crosshatching isn't very good. What I'd like to do is to make one section view, fix the crosshatching, then copy that...
In SW 2008, just select a part or subassy and select "view mates" (paper clip with glasses). This will show all of the mates for that part. Maybe 2007 had a similar command, but I never ran across it.
Just a follow-up on this issue. On the advice of our VAR, I upgraded to sp3.1 (why didn't I think of that?), and now our cosmetic threads print fine.
Thanks again,
Rich
It must be something in our print drivers or setup, then. I will make sure we have the latest driver, and talk with our IT guy to see if he has any thoughts.
BTW, I have been consulting this forum for some time, but this is the first time I have actually posted. Thanks for your help. You guys...
Here is a simplified version without dimensions or title block.
(Let me know if I didn't do this right - I'm a little new to forums.)

Thanks. The Display Style is set to "High Quality".
I tried setting to Draft and creating a new view, but no change. I tried all combinations of these 2 settings, but it didn't make a difference.
Thanks for staying with me on this. I truly appreciate your time.

Cosmetic Thread Display is set to High Quality. (If set to Draft, the dashed line representing the thread ID shows through the part.)
I don't see a quality setting for the Drawing itself. Where would I find that?
Good thought.
The thread does not show in the print preview. Also, I've printed to 2 different printers (from 2 different computers) with the same results.
I looked all through SW Tools>Options and my Print Properties & Print Setup, and can't find anything that seems to apply.
Any other...
I have a drawing of a stud where some portions of the OD are threaded and some are not. I put an isometric view on the drawing, and shaded it to show the cosmetic thread. All is good until I print the drawing and the thread doesn't print. Any ideas?
SW 2008 sp0.0
