Hello guys, I've to import 15 *.op2 files in a patran db. Is there some way to import all of them automatically (no, one by one). Thanks.

    sol 700, deactive shell element

Hello, I need to deactive some shell elemets in an impact simulation when a critical value of strain or stress is achived. In particularl I used card MATM for a PFA of a plate in coposite material in qrg is written thet it have to be activate the DEACT flag for the plys to deactive the element...

bush or bar element, which is more conservative or accurated and why?

I'm referring to the fasteners, as I wrote in the first post, Thanks for your interest, Regards.

bush or bar element, which is more conservative or accurated and why?

As the title I'would like to know which is more conservative or accurated and why? Considering bush or bar elemnt to simulate a fastener. Regards

two parts seperated after modal analysis in Patran

Yesr if you read all the freq from modal you will find a one or plus freq=0, it means that you model is not adequately constrained for a static analysis.

Sol 400 RBE3 with quadratic elemnts (ex. TET10).

Someone told me that to use a middle nodes (for quadratic element ex. TET10) as master in an RBE3 is non recommendable, especially in a sol 400 non-linear-static analysis, the solution might not converge. Is it true and why??? Thanks Best regards.

    Problem with contact, sol101

I've defined BCONTACT = "BCTABLE ID" inside the subcase. Regards

    Problem with contact, sol101

There is a misunderstanding, I'm sorry. I've referred to a surfaces of solid meshes. Regards

    Alodine 1200

I'm not an expert of corrosion, so I've some question about this surface treatment: I would like to use Alodine 1200 to protect an aluminium alloy (6082-T6) structure that cannot present corrosion for the first 5-6 years of its life. The structure is located in urban environment, Is a good...

Dear all I have a 3D model with

GPFORCE = ALL, you will have the force on all nodes, but I don't konow why you know want this info on 3d elements, is completely needless

    Problem with contact, sol101

Hi I've a problem with a model of an assy, with a contact definition in Nastran. I've six couple of surfaces, four of them are in touch before and after the run with loads. The other two couples have a small gap (0.5 mm) before the run and Their touching after the run. I've applied a sol 101...

Not apply bolt preload, is it conservative?

I'll do some ran, in first and second condition to evalute the difference before to ran all load cases. Thanks

Not apply bolt preload, is it conservative?

II have to verify a structure: 1 The joints according to EN_1993-1-8 2 The items according to Von Mises method I have done a test with single lap joint model, and with method of fake temperature load (for bolt preload) is impossible to have a double step analysis, there is the problem...

Not apply bolt preload, is it conservative?

I have to verify a steel structure for railway. The bolts are modeled with bar which are joined to plates with RBE. Actually the only way to apply a bolt preload is apply an appropriate temperature load to the bar elements. In this case I have to run a multi-step analysis: 1 setp applay bolt...

Not apply bolt preload, is it conservative?

Hi, I've a question for you. Is in FEM static analysis conservative not to apply a preload on the bolts? I have heard many different opinions on this argument, so now I have confused ideas. Someone can help me, please. Regards.

    Fatigue analysis maxi principal stress

HI, I'm Alfonso. I need explanation on a fatigue analysis using Max principal method. I've applied 8 fatigue load condition on a fem model, with a static analysis. I've found the critical location on the model, and allowable delta sigma from en-1993.1.9 . Now I've 8 max pirncipal and 8 min...

MPC (RBE2, RBE3) sol400 NASTRAN multi step analysis

Thanks for your help. The second step is a linear analysis, I'm not sure that NLPARAM is necessary. Do I have apply an NLPARM card in both steps?

MPC (RBE2, RBE3) sol400 NASTRAN multi step analysis

I've the same problem in another model, but in this case I cannot apply the same solution, because in the second step there aren't contacts, so I post this file. There are two problems: I don't know why but the second step doesn't start from the stress of the first step. In the output file...

    Evaluate bolt preload

I've not a preload of the bolts, I have to find it starting from the value of the specifications (6300 N). In this case I've calculated that with 6300 N the stress induced in the plates is too high, but I' m not sure that my calc is ok. So the questions are two; I would like to know if is...
