Hello evverybody,
at one of our machines, that we designed, we are using a twin hose reel to suply a twin hydraulic hose to a moving hydraulic cylinder. The reel is backwindet by an in build leaf spring. About a meter below the reel the hose is twisted by 90 degrees in axial direction and fed...
Thank You all a lot,
How do you think will the murtfeld plastic (yield strenght 76 MPa) handle the 144,3 MPa of contact pressure? I will inform you of the results once the prototype of our machine is tested. Can anybody recomend me some easy literature on this matter?
Thanks kingnero, with your little push in the right direction I was able to find what I needet. For example this neet site: http://www.amesweb.info/HertzianContact/SphereInCircularRace.aspx#.VLUH5yuG_eE .
Second question. According to what I read, the contact pressure can easily exceed the...
Hello everybody,
I need to design a joint consisting of a steel ball stud able to slide and spin in a plastic sleeve bearing with the same diameter. How does one approximately calculate the contact pressure between the ball and the sleeve? The only examples I found are for the contact between...
Sorry for the long wait. Well, we are a research institute. We are thinking of upgrading one of our prototype mobile hydraulic machines with lighter hydraulic cylinders. As we are not situated in the US but in Slovakia I contacted the Parker supliers in our and neighbouring countries, but we got...
Hello,
In the near future I might get to design a multicylinder system for a mobile hydraulic application. The problem is, I am new to hydraulic and know very little about hydraulic system design. Could somebody recomend me a good and simple book or website on that matter (something like...
Hello, sorry for the long wait, but I totaly forgot about this thread. It turns out that my problem was somehow caused by the fact that I was using an "multi configuration assembly" (i don't know how this is called in english) and in one configuration I deleted and inserted multiple parts. This...
Hello,
I have this problem and it is driving me nuts. I can create, for example, a hole in an assembly, but once it is created i just can not edit it. The edit icon is gray.
Could somebody help me with this?
Thank You in advance.
Today after doing an experiment on the motor we decidet to move the sensorto a different spot, which is much less heated.
I learned a lot, thank you.
Cheers

Thank You a lot,
one important thing that I forgot to mentione is that the holder is supposed to be directly screw mounted to the aluminium side of the motor. This will probably be a conduction path right into the holder. We want to use plastic screws but I am not sure if we can find the right...
Thanks for your reply.
The holder is holding a sensor. The sensors maximum ambient operating temperature is 70C.
The volume of the body is 0,000003m^3 and the surface area is 0,004005 m^2. The holder is quite small.
The material is steel so the value of thermal conductivity is 47 W.m^-2.K^-4...
Hi, it's me again,
I have a holder made out of basic 2mm sheet metal that a want to attach to a motor body. Can I somehow roughly aproximate (+-10C is ok) the steady state temperature in a particular point on the holder without using simulation software? Or is there some sort of online...
Hello everyone,
I have the folloving problem. I need to instal a holder for a sensor on the aluminium body of a combustion engine. The initial idea was to simply screw the holder, made out of basic 2mm thick sheet metal, to the engine body. The problem is that once the motor starts the motor...
Hi I'm currently making an overview of manufacturers that specialize in hydraulic components with special parameters. Is there a manufacturer that manufactures composite hydraulic cylinders and accumulators, besides Parker Hanifin? I really have trouble finding any. Also, how about lightweight...
