Geotechnical report recommenation for CIDH (drilled Shaft)

I was expecting simple answer; typical "write up" in recommendation portion. Some report presents only pile load capacity and depth of pile and some report presents soil value like Cohesion, Angle of internal friction, Total unit weight, Relative density, Strain at 50 percent of maximum stress...

Geotechnical report recommenation for CIDH (drilled Shaft)

Ron; We are very happy to talk about theory but some time practical world is little weird new person to figure out the boundary of different engineering fields. You are absolutely right, i may not have "sufficient" experience, therefore, seeking help to be smart in front of Superviser. I have...

Geotechnical report recommenation for CIDH (drilled Shaft)

We have to prepare geotechnical report for Cast-in-Drilled Hole pile foundation is recommended for the supporting deck with nominal load on 2H:1V slope. What are the typical geotechnical parameter do we need to recommend for Structural Design.

    overexcavation on cobble/boulder mixed soil

We are designing Water tank on ring wall foundation. The existing soils are typically silty sand with cobbles/boulders. It is better idea to over-excavation of this unpredictable soil or this is OK to leave as it is. How can we predict settlement on this type of soil ?

    Caliche is Expansive soil ?

We have to backfill to 95% relative compaction using Caliche mixed soil. These caliches are poorly cemented. I am not familier about properties of Caliche soils before. I guess iit is good because it helps cementation of soils. Am i wrong about this ? IS is expansive soil ? Does anybody help...

soil compaction silty sand (very fine sand)/ sandy silt (ML) loader VS vibratory compactor

THank You Ron. This is the soil specs, client wanted- close to natural soil. It is weired but they want material having more than 25% fine to prevent seepage under foundation. i have never seen this type of fill requirement for structural fill.

soil compaction silty sand (very fine sand)/ sandy silt (ML) loader VS vibratory compactor

We have to backfill for foundation of bldg. backfill material is sandy silt / silty sand ( uniform fine sand) . We have Heavy loader/excavator and vibratory sheep-foot roller for compaction. what would be better for this kind of soil. I prefer vibratory sheep-foot roller but other loader I am...
