The set is in UK, it is containerised set living outside in a company car park...
it is a hard wired set 150kVA...anything else you need to know?
I assume that it will have to conform to IEEE, ISO and IEC regs but this is partly what I would like to know more on.

So basically,
When the utility provides the earth I must make sure a separate earthing rod is used for the genset.
If the building has its own independant earthing then it is acceptable to connect to this.
To ensure my installations are correct I need to speak with each of my site facilities...

I'm in the UK the generator is hard wire connected to the buildings mains incomer DB using 4 pole transfer 3phases & Neutral being switched.

Can you give some more info on the UPS?
Some UPS's have an internal bypass switch that can be operated to isolate parts of the machine to enable maintenance without diconnection of the supply.
