    Mechanical work verse heat loss

    I am installing electrical equipment in a freezer and this equipment require a specific kilowatts to run. Not all of the power consumed is lost as heat. Is there a rule of thumb to estimate how must consumed energy is comsumed as work and how much is heat loss?
