for improvement of boiler efficiency the hotwell temperatures should be a bit high enough for reduction in coal consumption to be realised. what is the maximum temperature allowable considering the use of multistage pumps whose impellers can be affected by heat and obviously a poor life .
i am working on a project on improving boiler efficiency by increasing the rate of return of condensate water.
the dimensions that i have are
Max hieght of pipe from pump to hotwell =8.23m
diameter of pipe = 2.44''
length of pipe = 120m
what would be the right size of pump
the exit pressure is...

the problem that is to be solved is to ensure reliable flow of material on an existing extrusion machine. the problem is that material(PVC mixed with rechip) is not moving freely in the hopper due to the heat content from the rechip material. this requires a disturbing mechanism like a stirrer...
i would like to enquire how the design of a stirrer mechanism for powder material in a conical hopper can be done. is this the same theory you would find in fan design.
