need to specify valves for up to 1500 psi

Thanks, I got that covered with gate valve, I am working with Crane, Velan, etc.. but want your input regarding an actuator. I am not quite sure about actuators though. Not getting straight answer from the reps on the torque and what would it take to manually operate at 1,500 psi 700 gpm.

need to specify valves for up to 1500 psi

Hi all, Most of my life I dealt with municipal side with pressures up 50 200-300 psi, now I have a task to specify valves for the pump/piping system (water) for the pressures in excess of 1,300 psi. Can you please point me to right direction rgarding the following issues: 1.Isolation valves...

    high Pressure pumping

To make things complicated I just found out that the actual length of the pipeline is approximately 45,000 feet. The client appears to want us to use 6" Flexsteel pipe, that would put additional Oh gosh! 700 psi needed. Now my head is spinning

    high Pressure pumping

The pipeline literally climbs up the hill, so as it goes up there will be slight changes in slope with possible peaks and short downturns. I am not quite sure yet, I just got the job. Looks to me that a 300 HP pump should do it, just need to find the pump to give me approx 700gpm@1,250 feet (I...

    high Pressure pumping

Thank you all, I was looking at a multistage centrifugal pump that can give me over 500 psi. But I am a little bit concern about piping, I understand that ANSI #300 should cover it, but what kind of pipes and joints are rated for 550psi and not even thinking about air release valves, water...

    high Pressure pumping

Got a challenge. Need to lift approximately 700 gpm of water approximately 1,300 feet. Looking at different options, intermediate booster pumps, etc.., but I am curios if anyone has experience in lifting water at such a high pressure. Any tips on pumps, piping, etc.

    pumping in freezing conditions

Can anyyone share tips on installation of pumps outside in freezing conditions. We are looking at using vertical turbine pumps to be installed outside, pumping the water from the tank intermittently. I am worried about possible freezing water in the column or around the seal that would prevent...

    high pressure restraints

the pipe sizes are 18" parallel force main, I also have a relatively long 8" surge relief piping. It's all ductile iron and the liquid is effluent water in a sewage treatment plant.

    high pressure restraints

I am moving approximately 5000 gpm of water (inside the plant) at 130 psi. Do we need additional restrain on piping (rather than regular flanges. We have surge relief system that activates on appearance of transient pressure. Thanks for your input

    EPANET Modeling for Force Main

Depends on how accurate you want to be. If you want to use SWMM as CH81 suggested, there are some limits to pressurized flow, but it could be done. I would give it a shot. I used SWMM in complex systems with multiple pump stations/force mains and gravity sewers, but that was more for planning...

    portable wastewater treatment plant

Does anyone know of some sort of portable biological (secondary treatment) unit that could be used for a certain period of time (while the existing unit (trickling filter) is completly rehabilitated). The average flow is around 100,000 gpd. Thanks in advance

    Sewage Pump Motor Selection

    Thank you all again.

    Sewage Pump Motor Selection

Thank you all; I understand concept an so on. My question was whether the manufacturer motor rating reflects shaft or input power. Steve clearly answered that it is shaft power. So basically we can have situation that 100 HP motor running at 100% load draws 107.5 HP (equivalent) and that...

    Sewage Pump Motor Selection

I have a simple question. If a BHP is at certain level say 100 HP; and motor efficiency is say 93%; I always assumed that the motor rating should take in account the motor efficiency: in this case 100/0.93 = 107.5 HP. If the motor is rated: say 105 HP (the numbers are just for an example) does...

    Stainless and ductile pipe connection

Thank you all. Another issue: how to seal a penetration of a stainless pipe through the foundation slab. Should it be grouted or would some sort of seal work? And also the pipe continues vertically for about 12 feet before turn horizontally. The subbase is compacted fill. Should the pipe be...

    Stainless and ductile pipe connection

This is the air for diffusers in waste water treatment plant. The pressure is only about 7 psi. The existing blowers system was piped with ductile iron, and we need to connect to the air pipes in the tanks which are ductile. I wasn't going to weld ductile to stainless, I was going to connect...

    Stainless and ductile pipe connection

Need to connect new stainless steel piping with existing ductile iron outside application. Both sides with plain end. The piping is for compressed air, low pressure. Should we weld the flanges or use some type of uniflange, should we worry about disimilarity of material. Do we need a special...
