    Bolt with thread near head

Yeah Cory that is exactly what I mean. What kind of a bolt is that and where can I get it from? Timelord you did not understand what I was talking about at all so I wont waste my time explaining it to you. You can a look at the pic that CoryPad has posted instead! Thanks, David Landis

    Weld drawing annotations

Yes that is one obvious solution but that would require a very large sheet. My question was that whether there any other standards which I can use to represent the welds on a smaller sheet or even multiple sheets. David

    Bolt with thread near head

Hi, I am looking for a bolt which is partially threaded but the threaded portion should be near the head of the bolt and the unthreaded portion towards the open end. The bolt size should be 5/16"-18 Grade 8 x 1/2" Long. I tried searching a lot but did not come across such a bolt. Can anyone...

    Weld drawing annotations

Hi, I need to make several welding drawings which have a lot of welds in them. The problem is that if I show all the weld annotations, then the sheet looks cramped and difficult to read. Has anyone encountered such a situation? If yes then what did u do? Thanks, David Landis

Conversion of a Dynamic Load to a Quasi-Static Load

I will probably be solving the system as a spring mass damper equivalent and finding the max spring force since the dynamic effects will not be negligible. Now will this force I get from the dynamic simulation be a static or a quasi-static force? I would guess this would be a quasi-static load...

Conversion of Dynamic Load to a Quasi-Static Load

I will probably be solving the system as a spring mass damper equivalent and finding the max spring force. Now will this force I get from the dynamic simulation be a static or a quasi-static force? I would guess this would be a quasi-static load since I had to use a dynamic sim to get the load...

Conversion of Dynamic Load to a Quasi-Static Load

Hi, Thanks everyone for your input. The load is a shock load for an aircraft landing gear. The loading is a triangular pulse with G levels specified at, t = 0.000 sec, Acceleration = 0G t = 0.032 sec, Acceleration = 42G t = 0.064 sec, Acceleration = 0G The load is for a crash impulse...

Conversion of a Dynamic Load to a Quasi-Static Load

    Hi, Thanks everyone for your input. The loading pulse is exactly like Thomas has described in his message i.e. a triangular pulse with loads at, t = 0.000 sec, F = 0 N t = 0.032 sec, F = 2000 N t = 0.064 sec, F = 0 N I cant seem to understand what the difference is between a static...

Conversion of Dynamic Load to a Quasi-Static Load

Hello, I want to convert a load of 2000 N over a time period of 0.064sec to a quasi-static load so that I can apply it to my fea model in ANSYS. Can anyone suggest any methods or references. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, David Landis

Conversion of a Dynamic Load to a Quasi-Static Load

Hi, I want to convert a triangular load with a peak of 2000 N over a time period of 0.064sec to a quasi-static load, so that I can apply it to my fea model in ANSYS. Can anyone suggest any methods or references. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, David Landis
