    5MW XFR on 115KV

I agree with everyone - finding a transformer that size is not a problem, but go with at least a 10 MVA and definitely check your power factor! Economic considerations are your main concern with supplying at 115kV.

    Fault currents to high ?

"You talked with the wrong folks at the breaker manufacturer. If you are getting close to the nameplate rating, you must adjust for X/R and reclosing prior to comparing to the symmetrical fault current rating of the breaker. See IEEE C37.010. " Great point, Stevenal In the past, I worked on...

    Distance Relay Transient Load Limit?

Does anyone know what a distance relay transient load limit is? Or do you know any good resources describing it? Greatly Appreciated.

APPLYING AC DECREMENT PER ANSI C37.010 1979

ANSI C37.010 1979 says to apply the AC decrement to short circuit current when the current is fed predominately from generators through: -Not more than one transformation or -A per-unit reactance external to the generator which is less than 1.5 times the generator p.u. subtransient reactance...

Zero Sequence Impedance for Series Reactors

I've read Thread238-21974 and I think this may be useful for shunt reactors, I was curious if there are some ballpark numbers for estimating zero sequence impedance given positive sequence impedance. Specifically, we are installing a 1.75 ohm reactor at 34.5kV. We are modeling it on a 100 MVA...
