    solid axle, MacPherson struts

so what about any schematics. It will really help here, as they said pictures sais more than a 1000 words. if you have any links to the solid axel shematics, please make it visible!

    solid axle, MacPherson struts

Thanks for useful answers! Now I understand the single wishbone or MacPherson design. But about the rear solid axel, I made some CAD 2D scheme so I can easier describe what throubles me. The thing is that if "carrier" (connects axel to the frame) is connected to the frame via a pivot (3D...

    solid axle, MacPherson struts

I am learning about car's suspension, and there are many sites, none that I found has a good explanation, also names of the suspension are not the same from site to site. But I really don't understand movment of coil spring solid axle, because from the picture I can see say that both wheels can...

    peugeot 306 rear suspension

GregLocock said: "It looks like a trailing-arm independent suspension, the "axle" is just the pivot axis for the trailing arms and does not move up and down relative to the body." on wikipedia aslo said that 306 has trailing arm/torsion beam suspension. but where are the springs. Suspension on...

    peugeot 306 rear suspension

hi, as I know today manufacturers mostly use solid axle, torsion beam axle and multilink rear suspension systems. Solid axles on some SUVs and pickups, multilink on RWD and AWD cars and also on bigger FWD cars, and on small cars we mostly found torsion beam axle (also twisted beam axle). But...

    differential

and please explain me the difference between open and planetary diff as I taught this is the same. also some scheme or picture will be apriciated.

    differential

none of you two guys are making any sense! you BrianPetersen said "one way to do it is"... and then you said "this is still locked to a fixed ratio" Other designs use clutches or viscos... FIrstly we must differ clutch or visco type LSD and clutch or visco units. differential has thre axles...

    differential

how do you achieve that center differential (torsen, clutch or open type) doesn't split equal amount of torque between front and rear drive shaft. So normaly differential provide both axels with the same amount of torque, but center diferential is usualy designed to provide 40/60 front/rear.

diesel, gasoline natural gas fuels differences

latent heat of evaporization of gasoline has wery small inpact on compression temperature due to small amounts of gasoline versus air. At stoichometric point there is only 6,7% of gasoline and gasoline's latent heat value is much lower than water's, so due to latent evaporization effect the...

    adiabatic gas extension

Is termodynamic equation for calculating gas temperature, when at constant mass the pressure or volume has change correct in an adiabatic process? T2=T1*(V1/V2)^k-1 T2=T1*(p2/p1)^(k-1)/k if I make some example.... Tire pressure is cca 3bar, and ISA pressure is cca 1bar and temp is 288K (15°C)...

diesel, gasoline natural gas fuels differences

"But I thing that also the big problem will be autodetonation rather that spark, causing engine knock. Diesel autoignition point is lower that that of the gasoline." sorry for my mistake. I miss-checked the fuels characteristics table and mix gasoline and diesel numbers. According to the table...

diesel, gasoline natural gas fuels differences

Hi, I know something about thermodynamic, fuel physical characteristics, so please try that answers/discusion will be of any use. I tried to discuss about the topic on the other automotive forums, but people seem to know something and mostly I got cross-explanation of my former statements. I...
