Hello, we are finally taking a piping system design course in my mech engineering program, and we have been stuck with a new teacher who is somewhat less than stellar. I realize this forum is about professional engineering queries, but my last work term was with a company that required a lot of...
Monte, I'm sorry, could you try joseph@engr.mun.ca
While I appreciate everyone's input very much, I'm getting a couple of different answers here regarding flow rate. Could some of you perhaps post your calcs or at least a guideline? That would help me to learn how to do this for myself.
Hello monte mayor, I would really appreciate that document on drains that you mentioned. But I have no way to email you. You can try me at joecoady@molson.com.nospamthanks
Thanks for your help.
I made a mistake in my second description in that the pipe is cut off shorter than the bucket, not...
Hello, thanks for all the help. In order to clarify my system, you can think of the original hot water tank (tank 1) as a bucket with a pipe coming straight up through the middle, but cut off before the top of the bucket so that as the bucket fills to the top of the pipe it simply falls down...
Hello, we have just designed/installed a new system to recover hot water. Previously we generated (through a cooling process) large quantities of hot water that had to be dumped to drain for lack of enough space to store all of it, only to have to heat similar quantities of water mere hours...
Hello, I'm tasked with using nitrogen to push some glycol out of a pipe assembly that we have, though there is one single 2" diameter pipe that has some sensitive equipment in it that can't see very fast flows(I'm told) I was wondering if I knew the pressure difference across this length of...
