After some intensive evaluation I am using Beam 2D from Orand System (http://www.orandsystems.com) which is a very easy tool to analyse quit complex straight beam configurations with multiple loads (self weight included!)and cross sections (both unlimited). Is is not freeware, but Can$400 not...

To my knowledge, a wind rose is the "old-fshioned" way to describe directions:
North (0/360 degrees), South (180), East (90), West (270), North-West (315), South-East (135), North-Nort-West (335) etc.
