    FEA Simulation .AVI Files

Hi folks, Can anyone tell me what 'Codec', or form of compression is used when creating .avi files of FEA simulations? and if/how it can be changed? I am unable to view any created files in any multimedia packages, due to "unrecognised compression format". Or is there something else...

    Solve FE model error

@ Cheekymonkey82 As a result of your last post I spent some of the weekend setting up a fresh partition with win2K Pro with you fix applied. I still get the same error, albeit expressed in a slightly different fashion. All the latest drivers and service packs are loaded. I've done some...

    Solve FE model error

Thanks for your tip Cheekymonkey82! Gave it a go, unfortunatly my situation has not changed, I still stumble at the same point with the same error. What operating system were you running when this worked for you??? Was it NT4??? Cheers.

    Solve FE model error

None of the previously detailed suggestions worked (thanks anyway), same error being reported: "nbb.exe is not a valid NT application" Obviously MS8 is supported by NT, so where's the problem??? Do you, or anyone else, have any other suggestions? Cheers.

    Solve FE model error

Cheers for the link, I missed that one. I will see if a solution presents itself. MC

Frictional flow equations for highly viscous fluids

Clearly I have much to learn. Thanks for your help all the same, much appreciated. MC

Frictional flow equations for highly viscous fluids

    Right, the data I have is: D1=50mm X 250mm long D2=6.35mm X 550mm long D3=0.5mm X 30mm long Volume flow rate (V*) = U.(3.142Xr²) V*= 0.025 X (1.96X10-7) = 4.9 X 10-9 m³/s (2.5 X 10-2 m³/s = 25mm/s = Q) Therefore: *.U3 = V*/A3 = 2.5 X 10-2 m³/s *.U2 = V*/A2 = 1.55...

Frictional flow equations for highly viscous fluids

Thanks for your input guys. Info will be with you shortly CHD01. My excuse is: I've done a series of design degrees, having completed them I now realise that I should have/would have preferred to have done MechEng. Fluids is fairly new to me (learning from Bernhard Massey at the moment! -...

Frictional flow equations for highly viscous fluids

Hi everyone, Can anyone point me in the right direction for calculating a pressure requirement for my system. I'm extruding a polymer (pneumatically) from a reservoir through a connection tube and out through a (circular) die, the discharge rate required is 25mm/s. 1.Being of such high...

    Solve FE model error

Hi, I'm new to FE modelling and analysis in IDEAS. When I attempt to solve an FE model (having set boundary conditions, loadings etc...) the following error appears: "nbb.exe is not a valid NT application" I'm running MS8 with NT4-service pack6A. Has anyone else encountered this...
