    Need info on designing split collar/shaft collar

    ok yes that is all true but im looking for something that will give recommend practices for designing this. ex. "Enough gap so it will clamp", ok yes that's obvious but there as to be a rule of thumb like for "X" diameter should have "Y" gap. Or "X" clamp force should have "Y" gap.
