    Increase in allowable soil pressure w/depth

    My state (Wa) just changed over from UBC '97 to IBC 2003. There used to be a provision in UBC '97 for increasing the allowable soil pressure with depth. That seems to have disappeared with the new IBC. Is there anything in ACI that supports this.

    Shear wall software

    Has anyone here used the software known as "Woodworks". I'm interested in knowing how good a job it does on residential designs regarding wind & seismic loading. It costs about $800 which seems like a lot just for shear wall calcs. I'd also like to hear from anyone using "LatPro"
